LUCKNOW: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Rajya Sabha MP and national general secretary Vinod Tawade as its in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, assigning him a key organisational responsibility as the party begins its preparations for the crucial 2027 Assembly elections. Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel has been appointed co-in-charge of the politically significant state.
Tawade’s appointment is particularly significant given Uttar Pradesh’s enormous political importance. The state sends more members to the Lok Sabha than any other state and has historically played a decisive role in shaping India’s national political landscape. Leading the BJP’s organisational efforts in UP will therefore be a responsibility of considerable importance as the party seeks to consolidate its position ahead of the next Assembly elections.
