Salman Khan’s Latest Appearance Sparks Concern Among Fans as Age Begins to Show

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has long been celebrated for his youthful energy, fit physique and charismatic screen presence. For more than three decades, admirers have often remarked that the actor seemed untouched by age. However, his recent public appearance at an event in Mumbai has triggered concern among fans, with many taking to social media to ask whether the 60-year-old actor is unwell.

The discussion began after videos from the inauguration of the Data Collection and Verification Support Centre (IT Server Room) of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority surfaced online. In the footage, Salman is seen distributing keys to beneficiaries and greeting attendees with a smile. Yet, many viewers were struck by what they described as a noticeably tired and aged appearance.

Over the past several years, Salman’s look and body language at public events had remained largely consistent, leading many fans to believe that he was ageing remarkably well. This time, however, observers noted a visible change. The actor appeared more fatigued, and some social media users commented that he looked stressed, sleep-deprived or physically exhausted.

Reactions poured in almost immediately. One user wrote that the actor appeared unwell and offered prayers for his health. Another lamented that his “hero is getting old,” while others asked what might have happened to the actor. Several comments expressed sadness at seeing one of Bollywood’s biggest stars visibly age, while many supporters also reminded fellow fans that growing older is a natural process.

“Everyone gets old. We still love you, Bhai,” read one of the more supportive responses circulating online.

Physically demanding projects

The concerns come at a time when Salman is preparing for the release of Mathrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The period war drama, which was extensively shot in Leh and Ladakh, reportedly required the actor to undergo rigorous physical training.

In an interview with PTI last year, Salman openly acknowledged that action roles have become more challenging with age. He explained that tasks that once took a week or two to complete now require considerably more time and preparation.

“It is physically demanding every year, every month, every day and every hour. Earlier, I could finish all this in a week or two. Now it takes much longer. I have been running, working out, kicking and punching because the role demands it,” the actor had said.

He also noted that the action sequences and character requirements for Mathrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace differ significantly from those of his earlier film Sikandar.

Speculation and concern

While many fans expressed genuine concern for the actor’s health, some social media users and entertainment commentators suggested that the dishevelled appearance could be linked to promotional activity or media speculation. A few online posts questioned whether the actor’s look was being interpreted too dramatically or whether it might even be part of a broader publicity narrative aimed at generating sympathy and attention.

No official statement has been issued by Salman Khan or his representatives regarding the speculation surrounding his appearance.

For now, the viral videos have highlighted a reality that even the biggest film stars cannot escape — the passage of time. Salman Khan remains one of the most influential actors in Indian cinema, and despite the concern expressed by fans, the overwhelming sentiment online has been one of affection and support.

Whether his recent appearance reflects fatigue from demanding film commitments, temporary stress or simply the natural effects of ageing, admirers across the country continue to wish the actor good health, happiness and many more years in front of the camera.

As one fan summed it up, “Bhaijaan may be getting older, but he will always remain a superstar in our hearts.”
