NEW DELHI: Who will be chosen for the Ms Asia-Universe Fashionista, an international fashion and beauty pageant scheduled to take place in Singapore is a question every Indian fashionista must be asking. The organizers are expected to announce the official dates soon, with the finale currently planned for November 2026.
The national events for selecting the India Queens will be held at Mumbai and Goa, it is said. The national events as well as the grand finale will be live streamed on prominent OTT platforms and at least five OTTs will live stream the glam queens in all their splendour.
The pageant is expected to attract participants from more than 150 countries, bringing together models, beauty queens, fashion professionals, and cultural ambassadors from around the world. Positioned as one of Asia’s major fashion and lifestyle gatherings, the event aims to celebrate creativity, diversity, and cross-cultural collaboration on a global platform.
Industry observers believe the pageant could mark another milestone in the revival of large-scale international fashion events in India, following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The organizers are planning an extensive showcase that combines fashion, beauty, entertainment, music, gastronomy, and cultural experiences under one roof, creating a festival-like atmosphere for participants and audiences alike.
The event is also expected to feature an impressive lineup of celebrities, designers, influencers, and leading fashion brands. Sources indicate that several prominent personalities from the Indian film industry are likely to attend, with a number of Bollywood stars expected to make appearances on the runway. International celebrities, including guests from Hollywood and other entertainment industries, are also anticipated to be part of the celebrations.
Adding a cultural dimension to the programme, the event will showcase India’s rich textile heritage through a special exhibition of traditional fabrics. Among the highlights will be Kunbi weaving from Goa, known for its vibrant handwoven patterns, and the timeless Chikankari embroidery of Lucknow, celebrated worldwide for its intricate craftsmanship.
