Teacher and content creator Sakshi Jha has landed in the middle of a social media storm following her appearance on India’s Got Latent Season 2. The Bihar-based contestant, who has over 14000 followers on Instagram, drew widespread criticism after introducing herself as a “man-hater” during her audition and making several controversial remarks about men, marriage and her family.
The third episode of the latest season on Netflix quickly gained traction online, with clips from Sakshi’s audition circulating across social media platforms. While she appeared confident throughout her performance, her comments divided viewers and eventually earned her the lowest possible score from every member of the judging panel.
Sakshi Jha Introduces Herself As A ‘Man-Hater’
During her introduction, Sakshi openly described herself as a “man-hater.” Her Instagram bio further reflects a similar stance, reading, “Patriarchy’s worst nightmare.” As the conversation progressed, she revealed that her boyfriend had cheated on her.
Reacting to the revelation, host Samay Raina asked why someone would cheat on her. Sakshi responded by saying that perhaps it was because she is a “man-hater.”
She also made a controversial statement while speaking about her future, saying she wanted to hit her future husband with a belt after drinking alcohol. During the audition, she wrote, “Pati ko daru pi ke marna hai,” as part of her answer. She further claimed that her dislike for men extended to members of her own family, including her father and brother.
The remarks failed to impress the panel comprising Samay Raina, Tanmay Bhat, Vishal Dadlani, Raghu Ram and Yashraj Mehra. All five judges awarded her zero points, making her the first contestant in the second season to receive a unanimous zero from the entire panel. Despite the verdict, Sakshi rated her own performance an eight.
At one point, Samay asked her, “Who hurt you yaar?” To this, Sakshi replied, “Mens.” Samay then responded by saying, “This is why we say, ‘Educate girl child.'”
The awkward exchange continued when Samay asked the audience to score her performance. The crowd responded by chanting, “Zero,” further highlighting the panel’s reaction.
